Help

  1. Browse the Interactive Map of Greece and explore the immovable monuments, the archeological sites, the historical sites, and their protection zones (tool: "information levels”).
  2. Use different cartographic backgrounds (tool: “backgrounds”).
  3. Get to know the antiquities of your area by zooming in. Select a monument or an archeological site and see the summary information displayed next to the dot (name, affiliation, responsible department).
  4. Go deeper by selecting the "open tab" tool. Learn about the date of the monument in question, its description, protection status (Official Gazette), the service of the Ministry of Culture, which is in charge of it.
  5. Examine the photographic material and other relevant items, such as pdf booklets.
  6. Save or print the card.
  7. Find on the map the boundaries of archeological sites and protection zones. Save (or export to shapefile) the coordinates of the polygon (tool: "create vertex reference”).
  8. Print the map with the boundaries of the archeological sites and the protection zones of the area you are interested in, on a scale (tool: “print map”).
  9. Share the map with other users (tool: "create a shared link”).
  10. Find your location, either automatically (tool: "find my location"), or by using coordinates or by locating the point on the map (tool: "location tools”).
  11. Find out if you are within the boundaries of an archeological site or a protection zone or whether you are near a monument.
  12. Measure distances with the "measuring tools" tool.
  13. Search the map with keywords (tool: "search"). Unfortunately, the search operates in Greek.
